Community Supported Agriculture :: CSA
NOW TAKING MEMBERS FOR SUMMER, 2017!
Join the Local Food Economy!
As a member of a Community Supported Agriculture program you boost the heath of the community while nourishing yourself. You are directly connected to your food source, and help provide a fair wage for a local farmer. You share the risks and joys of the farming season with the farm.
We are a woman-owned business committed to:
Each week you’ll enjoy six to ten different crops picked at the height of flavor and freshness:
How will I get my weekly produce?
We’ll arrange a convenient pick-up site near you in Ashland, Bayfield, Herbster, Iron River, and Washburn. NEW FOR 2017: We also deliver to Superior/Duluth! Every Wednesday your box of fresh produce will be there by 3 p.m. (4:30 in Superior/Duluth) for pick-up. We’ll provide all the details to you in a pre-season email, after we have finalized our membership.
How It Works
The CSA will run from the second week in June, 2017 through the third week of October, 2017. TWENTY weeks of fresh local produce!
Members share in the rewards of a bountiful harvest but also share in the risk of farming. If harvests are low due to extreme drought or flood, for example, there are generally no refunds to members. This concept is called "Shared Risk." That said, we have never missed shipping a box, and box contents are carefully tracked over the summer so that harvest differences from week to week even out over the season so that shareholders receive an overall abundance of awesome food.
We’ll email a short newsletter every week that gives some recipe suggestions, general farm and food news, and CSA logistical announcements, so please provide your email when you sign up.
The price for a summer CSA share is $605.00. (That’s $30 per week.) Sign up before February 20th and get an Early Bird May Basket of farm treats!
Make the check payable to Clare Hintz and mail to the address at the top of the screen or you can use the PayPal option below (there is an added fee for processing with this option.) You are also welcome to send a deposit of $100; the remainder is due by April 1.
